Biography:

Talhdi is a practicing physician and former member of Maelstrom. She was born near Ala Ghiri around the time of the imperial conquest of Ala Mhigo and the surrounding lands. Her mother was a healer and trader for the tribe and thus had little time for her daughter. What time she did have was spent teaching Tal about the basics of aether manipulation, how to create simple potions, and how to read.

Her childhood was difficult. Imperial occupation meant that her tribe was under constant threat. The empire was not fond of the tribal miqo'te and began to encroach on their lands causing several of her tribe to join the resistance. This put a strain on the tribe, losing many of their best hunters and fighters to the war, causing their numbers to slowly decline.

Around her sixteenth nameday, things began to change for the worst. Food was becoming more scarce and many of her tribe were dead and injured. Faced with an uncertain future, the malaise of life under imperial occupation, and her growing desire to experiment with her gender, the young woman and a few others fled to the shroud. It was a grueling hike, mostly under the cover of night, and few made it to the safety of Gridania. Talhdi was of the lucky ones.

While some chose to stay in the shroud, Tal would make her way to Limsa Lominsa. Having had an aptitude for magic and an interest in knowledge, she joined the arcanist guild where she honed her craft and became a researcher and a scholar, leading to her eventual profession.
