Biography

N'towa was born to the same tribe as N'yumi and N'riju, though from a different family. Riju's cousin, they were raised during a time of turmoil in the tribe. Born in the era of Garlean control over Ala Mhigo, Towa faced a fair bit of hardship growing up. Many of their tribe mates would give their lives defending their land and aiding the Resistance. Death was so common to Towa that they became numb to it, withdrawn, and untrusting.

This was certainly not helped by their mother. She was always something of a harsh figure, controlling and a bit erratic. Towa was often the target of her abuse, scolding the poor child, trying to control their presentation, their hobbies, and their life. They were terrified of their mother, and their mother in turn exploited that fear.

Luckily, Towa was not alone; they had their cousin to lean on. The two of them had a similar childhood, had similar mothers, and faced similar abuse, so they became each other's rocks, each other's support.

The two made a pact, long ago, to leave the tribe. Riju eventually did just that, seeking out his mama in Eorzea. Towa, however, was too scared; they couldn't face their mother's wrath, and they were terrified of the unknown. They elected to stay, falling back into line, living under their mother's thumb.

Riju always kept in touch though. Through his Nona, he would send letters to Towa, keeping them informed on what was happening in Eorzea, what life was like. They slowly built Towa's confidence back up and, soon enough, they'd leave their tribe for good.

One night, in the dead of winter, Towa appeared on the doorstep, freezing cold but free. They'd made it out. They'd survived.

Present

Towa is now in Eorzea, fresh off the boat so to speak. They're looking for work, for things to do, for friends and for new places to explore.

Hooks

• Towa is new to Eorzea and doesn't know the lay of the land.
